Calgary Drop-In Centre's vision is a community where everyone can find their home.

At the Calgary Drop-In Centre, we are dedicated to supporting adults at risk of or experiencing homelessness. Through strong community partnerships, we provide emergency shelter, health programs, and housing options to help individuals find their way home. Our mission is to work together with the community to end homelessness, one person at a time.

Impact on our Organization: A significant portion of our city remains unaware or uninformed about the remarkable services and positive impact that The Calgary Drop-In Centre brings to the Calgary area. We believe it is of utmost importance that more people in our community become acquainted with our housing & recovery programs and see us as an integral and essential partner in addressing core social issues.
The Calgary Drop-In Centre is offering 3 Give Back opportunities this year:
Option 1: Serve Breakfast at the Emergency Shelter
Option 2: Serve Dinner
Option 3: Volunteer at the Donation Centre
Point System: A minimum of 5 volunteers from a team must complete a shift.
How to participate: To book a volunteer shift, you must first create a volunteer account. Once you have created an account, the volunteer shifts can be booked by clicking on one of the following:
- Breakfast Service
- Dinner Service
- Donation Centre Volunteer
Impact on our Organization: Volunteering is crucial for the Calgary Drop-In Centre as it plays a pivotal role in our mission. We heavily rely on volunteers to serve meals, and we consistently are in need of volunteers to support breakfast and dinner services. Additionally, our Donation Centre relies on dedicated volunteers to sort through the generous donations we receive. Without the invaluable support of volunteers, we would simply lack the labor force needed to efficiently process and distribute these essential resources to those in need. The dedication and selflessness of our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization, allowing us to continue making a meaningful impact on the lives of the homeless individuals we serve.
Meal Sponsorships
Each month, up to 1,500 people rely on the Calgary Drop-In Centre for meals. Meal sponsorships allow us to provide our guests with a thoughtfully prepared, nutritious, and filling meal. Your contribution will provide nourishment and empowerment to those experiencing homelessness, an integral piece in helping them on their journey to find housing, develop a support system, and regain independence. Give the gift of food security.
Point System: One challenge point is awarded for teams that pay for a breakfast, lunch, dinner, or bagged lunches.
How to Participate:
Sponsor a meal towards our Food Security Program. You can sponsor Breakfast ($1,000), Lunch ($1,250), Dinner ($2,000), or bagged lunches ($750).
Tax receipt information: At the time of donation, you can submit your information to generate an automatic tax receipt. If multiple people require tax receipts, please provide a list with full names, mailing address, emails, and phone number with clear indication of how much each person donated for meal sponsorships.
In order to receive your point, please indicate company name.
Get Saucy!
Did you know our kitchen serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner to more than 1,500 people every single day? You can support our team by helping us collect the key ingredients we need to make the sauces that go into so many of our meals.
Our most versatile and high‑demand items are:
- Tomato sauce
- Curry sauce
- Canned fruit
To put it in perspective: one pasta lunch alone uses roughly 25 litres of sauce! Think you’re up for the challenge?
How to earn this point:
1. Collect any of the ingredients listed above (no need to hit 25L since every single item helps!).
2. Drop them off at our Donation Centre: 3640 11a Street NE.
3. Snap a photo and tag us at @calgarydropin and @calgarycorporatechallenge.
