Reflecting on the road back to "normal" for Calgary Corporate Challenge and the September Games.
2022 was the year of “the return to the workplace”.
For CCC, 2022 also marked our first year returning to in-person events after the pandemic. We were excited to reconnect with the Calgary community, but we did so with careful planning to ensure that our events adhered to the health and safety guidelines in place. As part of the 2022 September Games, we hosted 26 events (20 in-person and 6 e-sports) and had 110 participating companies take part in some friendly competition. At the end of the 16-day period, our participants raised nearly $280,000 and donated over 3,800 units of blood for our 10 charity partners. It was fantastic to see so much support and positive energy in our community, and for that we are incredibly thankful.

We couldn't do what we do without each and every volunteer in our network.
Every year, Calgary Corporate Challenge relies on hundreds of Company Volunteers to help with check-in, scorekeeping, and results. In addition to that, we also have a dedicated group of Primary Volunteers who act as CCC representatives while our staff bounces from event-to-event during the Games.

This past year, the Board approved a new Vision Statement for Calgary Corporate Challenge which will guide our work into the future, being: “Unifying Calgary’s business community, one event at a time.” We are committed to inspiring wellness and positivity in the Calgary community by bringing people together through fun and inclusive events year-round. As we look toward 2023, we recognize that many organizations are still navigating the post-pandemic workplace. Flexible work arrangements have become the new norm, and organizations are faced with the challenge of inspiring connectivity among employees in a world of hybrid and remote work. At CCC, we believe that team-building activities are a powerful tool. By creating opportunities for individuals to work together, team-building not only helps to encourage communication and collaboration but can create a sense of shared purpose and trust, both in and out of the workplace.
