Big Brothers Big Sister's mission is to enable life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Calgary and Area (BBBS Calgary) empowers mentoring relationships for children and youth between the ages of 6-24 in Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane, Rocky View, Okotoks and Foothills. We run both community-based and school-based mentorship programs. Our programs are free to everyone, making developmental relationships accessible to all regardless of financial capabilities.
Our agency staff members are experts at recruiting and screening volunteers; making intentional, meaningful matches; and providing the support necessary for mentoring relationships to have a lasting impact. Last year alone, we created and empowered more than 815 mentoring matches for children and youth and more than 780 dedicated volunteers gave over 43,736 hours to young people in our communities in need of additional supportive relationships!
