Welcome to 2020!

Is it too late to say Happy New Year? We may only be a few weeks into the new year but we haven’t been sitting around - we’ve been busy with some big plans here at Calgary Corporate Challenge. But before we get to that, let’s take a quick look back on last year…

Hayley Sellick

2019 was a year of change for CCC. At the beginning of the year, we bid a fond farewell to Robyn and Diana and said a big hello to Jacquie and Taylor, who joined Dave to become Team CCC. Later in the year, we met Hayley and we officially became a four-person team. Then we had our first practicum student, Ashley, who joined us in the summer and managed to complete almost all of her required hours during the September Games.

Between team-bonding sessions (read: trips to get ice cream), we not only gave our old website a much-needed makeover, but we got ourselves a brand new logo too. We loved our new logo so much that we made CCC sunglasses, reusable water bottles (#GoingGreen was our theme after all!), and even teamed up with local apparel designers Local Laundry to create our own swanky sweaters (which will be available to buy on our website soon!)

We welcomed three new charities and spent some time volunteering with our other charities too, including sorting food at Calgary Food Bank, saving lives through blood donations at Canadian Blood Services and trying not to cry during a heart-warming tour of the Ronald McDonald House.

We had a great year and we appreciate your support throughout the last 12 months!

Now that we’re done reminiscing, we’re back into full planning mode for 2020. This year will be our 25th anniversary and we’ve got some fun things planned, so keep an eye on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest updates.

Before we sign off, we wanted to share some clues with you about this year’s theme. We want to look back on the last 25 years but also forward to the future of CCC. Don’t worry, you won’t need to get your hands on any plutonium or make friends with crazy-haired inventors to get in the Games this year. Not registered yet? Early bird registration closes at the end of the month and the time will (mc)fly by, so sign up today!
