Volunteer Position: Board Member
Calgary Corporate Challenge is seeking nominations for a minimum of two Members to be elected to our Board of Directors at our Annual General Meeting in April.
Organization
Calgary Corporate Challenge is a non-profit corporate events company committed to encouraging fun, participation, inclusion, teamwork, and a healthy work-life balance. We organize year-round team-building and employee engagement events, but we are best-known for the September Games: 16 days of Sports & Games for over 150 Calgary & Area companies every year.
Mission
We are a community of builders focused on increasing employee engagement and wellness through diverse, inclusive events that result in increased corporate pride and a sense of connection within the Calgary business network.
Positions
Calgary Corporate Challenge is seeking nominations for the following positions to be elected to our Board of Directors at our Annual General Meeting in April. This is an extremely rewarding volunteer opportunity and consists of a 3-year commitment, with a maximum of two consecutive terms (for a maximum total of 6 years). Calgary Corporate Challenge has an annual operating budget of approximately $500,000+ and has 3 full-time staff members that report through the Executive Director to the Board of Directors.
Board Director (minimum 2 positions to fill)
Board directors are expected to attend bi-monthly board meetings (once every two months) and may be asked to contribute to at least one of the following committees: Audit & Finance; External Relations/Marketing; Governance; People & Culture; Programming; Strategy. Directors are also invited to attend some CCC events in September and year-round (at no cost).
All candidates are generally expected to have some experience with Boards in at least 1 of the following areas. Areas marked with an asterisk (*) are of particular focus at this time:
Business Development
Finance

Human Resources*
Legal*
Marketing
Non-Profit Organizations*
Public Relations/Media*
Strategic Planning
Technology
